What would you like to chat about?
Hi Janey – I signed up because a friend said I should do something with “my look”! I’m a competitive bodybuilder/sports model in my 60s and an online behaviour coach (Post Grad in Applied Psych), and someone who doesn’t fit the usual expectation of what this age is supposed to look or feel like! It’s taken me years but I am now saying yes to visibility and embracing my age!

I’d love to discuss how to leverage my look and life experiences for roles or opportunities. 😁

Make an appointment to chat with Janey and we’ll get you on the right path for your journey into the Film Industry.  Send me a message to let me know what you’d like to chat about 🙂

Why Ethnicity is Important

Casting briefs always specify ethnicity of the talent required for any roles.

It’s important to add your Ethnicity under the Stats&Skills section of your HeyCast profile.
We need this details as we often filter by Ethnicity in HeyCast if casting are looking for specific people. Your profile will be dropped from the filter if there is no Ethnicity noted and you’ll potentially miss out on roles.

There is no racism in our briefs, they are simply a summary of the people directors require to tell their story.

Ethnicity is vital if the story is set in a certain era or location, for example “Chief of War” really only required Pacific Island and Maori folks and Spartacus were mostly looking for Roman and European generally with Indians only for ‘spice traders’.

Casting Directors for TV Commercials often are requiring diversity to provide a balance of looks.
American productions filming in NZ are often looking for African folk to portray ‘African Americans’

Another most important reason for Ethnicity is when casting directors are searching for Body Doubles or Stand Ins for a cast member. These roles provide regular bookings for the term of the production and can be a fabulous way to have an amazing experience on a production working closely with lead actors!
