All Locations must be set using the dropdown list in HeyCast. If you live near a large centre, select that for your City Location and list your town under Suburb in HeyCast. If your town is not included in the dropdown list, please add it under Suburb in your profile and select the nearest main centre from the list.
Doing this ensures you will be considered for any filming in your area and enables us to search on your town if filming is more specifically near you.

Productions looking for Background Extras will only book talent who are based in the centre where filming is to take place. For example, you won’t be considered by the Extras Cast Coordinators for Auckland productions if not Auckland Based.
You can change your location to your nearest City Centre but to be considered for filming you must commit to the following:
1. Be ready and able to travel to the City at your expense. Having family or friends to stay with is essential as you will need to stay at least one night, probably more for each day on set.
2. Availability at short notice is desirable though we understand if not always possible.
3. Ability to travel to the City for fittings or auditions at short notice essential for any role you are committed to. This could be for only 10min audition or 2hr wardrobe session. We aim to give you at least 2 days notice, this is not always possible.
4. Call times to be on set can be as early as 4am so travel up the night before going on set is expected as you’ll then have a long day of 10+ hours on set. It isn’t safe to be driving after a long day, so we request you have somewhere to stop the night after your time on set too. Some shoots are day/night shoots meaning you’ll not be finished much before midnight.
When you receive an offer for a role or audition, you have the opportunity to say no of course. However once you have committed to a role our expectation is that you will honour that commitment and be reliable. Living outside of the city cannot be an excuse.
If you are happy with all the above, please set your CITY on your profile to your Nearest Centre and you’ll be submitted and considered for all roles in that centre.
Otherwise we will continue to submit you for all nationwide roles as suitable.
