Using a fabric tape measure used for sewing is key to having accurate measurements. A builders tape won’t fold around the curves of your body nicely to provide accurate measurements.
Sometimes it is easier to have another person take the measurements for you. If you don’t have a tape measure or another person, head into a Spotlight store (haberdashery) or an alteration store or Taylor. They’ll all be able to assist you.
